☕ APIN COFFEE – Your Moment of Happiness in Batam!

My name is Arifin Ilham, but everyone prefers to call me Apin.

At the age of 20, I am realizing a dream that began with one simple thought:

         “Every customer deserves a pleasant moment in their day.”

This dream started to take shape when I met an investor from the Netherlands.

He invited me to open a coffee shop in Batam together. We discussed the possibilities, created a design, and came up with a name. After much deliberation, we decided to call the shop APIN COFFEE—a name derived from my own nickname, Apin.

We chose to have a shipping container built and converted it into a coffee shop. Next, I began looking for a suitable location. I quickly found one on the grounds near the ferry terminal and several large shopping malls in the center of Batam, at the “Welcome to Batam” tourism landmark.

Meanwhile, I set about purchasing all the equipment needed to make the best coffee for my customers. I also looked for a bean supplier and found Tatido Coffee, a brand that offers high-quality beans. I created my own menu, featuring a special butterscotch-pistachio latte and a signature palm sugar milk coffee, with prices starting at just 19,000 Rupiah.
For the espresso, I use Gayo Natural Blend coffee beans—a mix of 30% Arabica and 70% Robusta—resulting in a flavor that is neither too bitter nor too acidic.

The big day arrived on August 18, 2026, and I was able to open the Apin Coffee shop.

At first, I was helped by my colleagues and a number of friends who came to visit the shop. The opening was a festive occasion.
The next challenge was ensuring enough customers could find Apin Coffee. Social media has been a great help with this; Apin Coffee can now be found on Google Maps, Instagram, and TikTok.

Since then, I have also started selling other products, such as matcha, iced tea, and much more. I also offer snacks like fries, nuggets, and other treats. Be sure to check the menu to see what we’re selling, as it is updated regularly.

My goal is to give customers a truly enjoyable moment in their day with a delicious drink and a snack. I hope to see you soon at Apin Coffee.
